Deuteronomy, a biblical book attributed to Moses, holds significant interest as it contains the words imparted to the Israelites during their journey through the wilderness. Within Deuteronomy 28, there exists a compilation of blessings and curses based on adherence to God’s laws and commands.
Here are the two strategies for navigating through difficult times and emerging stronger.
- Reflecting on past victories and expressing gratitude to God. You may be acquainted with the song “Count Your Blessings,” which inspires us to reflect on the victories, whether significant or minor, that God has graciously granted us. By expressing gratitude to Him, we discover comfort and peace.
- Embracing the promises of God for the future. In moments that seem distant from reality and are akin to wilderness or valleys, it is often prophecies that provide guidance. Therefore, seek God for a personal prophetic word intended for you. Despite the noisy world around us, prioritizing time spent with God enables us to sharpen our spiritual senses and hear His “still small” voice. God’s Word affirms that when we draw near to Him, He draws near to us. Taking the first step is crucial. Meanwhile, it is beneficial to declare and cling to the blessings outlined in Deuteronomy 28.
It is essential to note that we are not manipulating or coercing God for blessings. Rather, we draw strength from His power and His Word, enabling us to excel in other areas even during difficult times. Moreover, God attaches significance to our words during challenging periods; thus, we will experience the consequences of what we speak. As the saying goes, “As a man speaks, so is he.” Therefore, it is time to declare God’s promises over our lives. For ease of declaration, I have personalized the blessings in Deuteronomy 28 by substituting “you” with “I.”
All these blessings will come on me and accompany me When I obey the Lord my God:
- I will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.
- My family, my husband, my children will be blessed in everything they do.
- My basket (present) and My kneading trough (future) will be blessed.
- Wherever I go and whatever I do, I Will be blessed
- The Lord will conquer my enemies when they attack Me .
- The Lord will bless my bank account and on everything I put my hand to. The Lord my God will bless me in the land he is giving to me.
- The Lord will grant me abundant prosperity—in every area of my life.
8. The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send blessings on me and my family.
9. I will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.
10. The Lord will make me the head, not the tail. If I pay attention to the commands of the Lord my God and carefully follow them, I will always be at the top, never at the bottom.
